PLC Sydney's Music Department offers a highly comprehensive classroom, performance, instrumental and vocal tutoring program.
During the year a number of performances showcase the talents of the school’s bands, orchestras and choirs. Often these groups perform at local, national and international levels. Each year on Speech Day in December several music ensembles perform on the stage of the Sydney Opera House.
From Evandale ( PK – 2), Hamilton ( 3 – 6) and the Senior School, in addition to developing solid group skills, our ensemble philosophy is centred on the reinforcement of concepts presented in the classroom music programs.
The College's strong Music curriculum and extensive range of co-curricular performance programs provides Music Education that develops well rounded and creative musicians.
Music tuition is available in the following areas:
Wind – Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Saxophone
Brass – Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Tuba
Strings – Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Harp
Alternate – Piano, Voice, Pipe Organ, Contemporary Guitar, Percussion, Musicianship/Theory, Bagpipes, Drumming (Pipes & Drums), Classical Guitar
