...find your rhythm

Music fills our grounds and corridors before, during and after school. It is part of the very fabric of life at PLC Sydney...

A highlight of our performance calendar is our annual Speech Day in December where several music ensembles perform on the stage of the Sydney Opera House.

Students at PLC Sydney are passionate about music and all our musicians, no matter what their ability level, have numerous opportunities for participation and performance.

With a strong tradition of excellence in music, we offer a variety of bands, choirs, orchestras and ensembles for students to join, as well as private music tuition. Students regularly showcase their talents, with individuals and groups often performing at local, national and international levels. A highlight of our performance calendar is our annual Speech Day in December where several music ensembles perform on the stage of the Sydney Opera House.

The Music program features 19 ensembles including:

  • four choirs and vocal groups
  • four concert bands
  • a baroque ensemble
  • a symphony orchestra
  • various percussion, string, wind and chamber groups

Our Pipes and Drums is one of only four all female school pipe bands in Australia. The band performs regularly at school functions and within the community, most notably at the annual ANZAC Day marches in Sydney and in collaboration with other schools and community groups at its own annual Tattoo.

There is always something exciting happening on campus at PLC Sydney.

We also have a Composer in Residence program where a visiting musician and composer works with students across all year groups, adding another layer of depth to our already rich Music Program.
