PLC Sydney has claimed its first-ever Snow Australia Interschools National Snowsport Championships (Secondary Female) title, capping an outstanding season for the College’s Snowsports program.

Competing in six days of challenging conditions, including torrential rain, strong winds and limited snow cover, the PLC Sydney Senior team of 19 students from Years 7 to 12 demonstrated skill, versatility and determination across a range of disciplines.

The national title follows the team’s success at the NSW, Queensland and ACT Interschools Championships, where PLC Sydney secured State titles for the third consecutive year.

The result reflects years of commitment from our students, many of whom train through the PLC Sydney Winter School Program. Students in Years 7 to 10 have the opportunity to live, study and train in the Snowy Mountains full-time during winter, with the support of the College and dedicated Snowsports staff.

The team’s success was also reflected in a strong medal tally at the National Championships, with PLC Sydney students achieving podium finishes across moguls, alpine, snowboard cross, slopestyle and cross-country events.

SILVER

• Snowboard Cross: Olive(Year 12)
• Slopestyle Ski: Amelie (Year 9)
• Team Moguls: Isla (Year 12), Amelia (Year 11) and Lucy (Year 12)
• Team Slopestyle Ski: Amelia (Year 11) and Isla (Year 12)
• Year 11 Cross-Country Classic Team: Alice, Chiara and Amelia
• Team Slopestyle Ski: Amelie (Year 9), Evie (Year 9) and Sophie (Year 10)

BRONZE

• Team Snowboard Cross: Olive (Year 12), Lucy (Year 12) and Amelia (Year 11)
• Year 11 Cross-Country Relay Team: Alice, Chiara and Amelia
• Team Moguls: Belinda (Year 9), Summer (Year 10) and Charlotte (Year 10)

A standout performer was Amelia Conway (Year 11), who qualified for eight events at the National Championships and finished on the podium in five.

The achievements of the current team also build on a strong Snowsports legacy at PLC Sydney. Recent PLC Sydney Ex-Students Charlotte Wilson, Abbey Wilson, Emma Bosco and Phoebe Cridland competed at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.

The continued development of Snowsports at PLC Sydney has been supported by Mel Johnston, Snowsports Coordinator and founder of the Winter School Program, who has mentored generations of students and led the program for more than 20 years.

With a new generation of skiers and snowboarders coming through the program, the 2026 National Championship marks an exciting milestone in the history of Snowsports at PLC Sydney.
