View PLC Sydney Preschools InformationSeventeen PLC Sydney athletes represented the College at the NSW Athletics State All Schools Championships at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre from 26-29 September, returning with medals, personal bests and valuable experience competing at state level.
Across the four-day competition, our athletes competed in a wide range of events and conditions, from a hot 35-degree day to cold, wet and windy conditions with temperatures reaching just 13 degrees.
Five PLC Sydney athletes finished on the podium, with several standout performances across track and field.
Jiselle (Year 7) had an outstanding championships, winning gold in the 12 Years 800m and 12 Years 1500m. Her 1500m performance saw her set a new meet record with a time of 4:36.
Kristyna (Year 7) won gold in the 13 Years 80m Hurdles and silver in the 14 Years 200m Hurdles, competing up an age group.
Eva (Year 11) claimed silver in the 17 Years 1500m and bronze in the 17 Years 800m.
Molly (Year 12) won silver in the 18–19 Years High Jump, while Grace (Year 8) took bronze in the 14 Years Long Jump.
Alongside the medal-winning performances, Mala, Rani and Kavya (Year 7), Emily, Alice, Emily and Sienna (Year 8), Indi and Georgia (Year 9), Madeleine and Sienna (Year 11), and Sienna (Year 12) all competed strongly across their events.
For many of our athletes, the championships provided an opportunity to compete against some of the best young athletes in NSW, gain valuable experience and achieve personal bests.
The strong results have also led to further opportunities for our athletes.
Eva and Kristyna have both been selected in the NSW team to compete at the Australian All Schools Championships in Perth in early December.
They will also represent PLC Sydney at the National All Schools Challenge, where they will be joined by Jiselle, Sienna, Georgia and Madeleine as they compete against some of the leading school athletes from across Australia.
Congratulations to all 17 PLC Sydney athletes on their performances, effort and commitment at the NSW All Schools Championships.
