Croydon Centre for Art, Design & Technology
Formerly the Croydon Hotel, the College Council of PLC Sydney purchased The Croydon in 1997 with a vision to developing a centre of excellence for creative and technological pursuits.
The Croydon was officially opened in 2000 by Elizabeth Ann Macgregor, Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney.
The art deco features and original shell of the building were retained and The Croydon now houses specialist media studios, private senior studios for independent learning as well as the Adelaide Perry Gallery for art and design exhibitions.
Eleven specialist media studios allow students to actively engage in the art and design process:
- Digital Media and Graphic Design
- Food Technology
- Timber and Plastics Technology
- 3D Forms
The benefit of this outstanding facility is evident through the recognition of student works. PLC Sydney students have had work included in the prestigious ARTEXPRESS, DesignTECH and Texstyle exhibitions.
