Mr Geoffrey Stewart, Head of Technological and Applied Studies, announced the 2023 award winners in Design & Technology, Textiles & Design, Food Technology and Computing Applications. Ms Renee Brown, Joint Acting Head of Visual Arts, then announced the 2023 award winners in Visual Arts, Visual Design and Photography, Video & Digital Imaging. Award winners received certificates for Outstanding Achievement as well as Creativity and Consistency in each of the faculties’ classes from Ms Gair.

Following the presentations, guest speaker Miss Lillian Stock addressed the gathering. Lillian, a PLC Sydney Ex-student whose HSC Visual Arts Body of Work was exhibited at ARTEXPRESS 2023, began by saying how impressed she was at the high standard of works on exhibition. She spoke about the innate value that subjects such as Visual Arts and Design offer, explaining her recent application of critical thinking and detailed visual analysis during laboratory experiments for her undergraduate studies in Medical Science and Advanced Studies.

Anna Wang thanked Miss Stock for her participation at the event and presented a gift in appreciation on behalf of the students and staff at PLC Sydney. Ms Gair closed the proceedings gratefully acknowledging the students for contributing their works for display, and The Croydon staff for their assistance in bringing the exhibition together.

The exhibition continues at Adelaide Perry Gallery weekdays 8.30 am – 4.00 pm.
