PLC Sydney is renowned for a strong sport and co-curricular program and all boarders are encouraged to participate fully in the life of the College.
All Year 7 to 11 boarders are required to participate in a team sport twice a year.
The Aquatic Centre is only meters from the Boarding House. Boarders who swim both competitively in squads or for fitness are able to join the College’s Aquatic Centre ‘Learn to Swim’ and swimming development programs. The staff in this Centre support and encourage the boarders to participate in their programs.
The College Weights Room is also a favourite of the boarders and they can access this facility during the week before and after school. This Weights Room is staffed by qualified instructors who take the students through their routines and assist in managing the girl's fitness levels, as desired.
The boarding staff arrange Friday night and Saturday activities. All students in Years 7 to 9 attend these activities. All activities are designed to be interesting, fun learning experiences that not only explore the regions of Sydney, but help teach boarding students how to navigate the city transport systems.
Activities may include:
- Coastal walk and city trips
- Cultural festivals and activities
- Craft and cooking
- City trips and ferry travel
- Boarders Camp
Boarders are also invited by other schools to attend dances and social events throughout the year.
