'Impressions of Her', painting (detail). Part of Amelia's wonderful Body of Works explores the relationship that individuals can have with objects and spaces. In this centre painting, Amelia remembers her late great-grandmother Eleanor Clarke (1924-2022) with great warmth, love and loss.

Diploma of Communication Service

While at PLC Sydney I immersed myself in Art and participated in numerous art competitions. I few of the competitions I am most proud of include: Finalist in the V-Fest Filmmaking competition (2022), Riversdale Dreaming People’s Choice Award (Year 11), Mosman Youth Art Prize Finalist 2021 and the 2022 Young Archie Honourable Mention. I also had Solo Art Exhibitions at Concord library: “Perspectives on Beauty” (2020) and “Opening up” (2022).

What is your fondest memory of your time at PLC Sydney?

The joy I felt when the leaders for 2023 were announced. Hearing that my friends and I had received leadership roles. Sharing in this excitement together was a moment that I won't forget.

If you could offer advice or a tip to someone about to do their final year, what would it be?

Aim high and set ambitious goals for yourself which you know will push you out of your comfort zone. Don't waste your time being anxious about how you will achieve this goal, instead spend time making small steps of progress towards it.

How important was it for you to balance your academic focus with other activities? eg co-curricular activities

Doing lots of co-curricular activities has really helped me to gain skills in a wide variety of areas outside the school curriculum, but has also helped me to develop many of my friendships. Doing lots of co-curricular activities has kept me busy and pushed me to become more organised and develop my time management skills. Although I love my Art, I also love sport and was Tennis Championships Doubles Finalist (2021), Doubles Winner (2022) and I was a Tennis 'Ball Kid' for Blind and Low Vision Tennis and the ATP Cup (2022).
