An evening of Inspiration with Captain Tammie Jo Shults
Envision the unthinkable occurring while cruising at 30,000 feet. When an engine failed at high altitude, 148 lives rested in the hands of a single individual: Captain Tammie Jo Shults.
We are delighted to announce Captain Shults as our distinguished guest for the 2026 Pamela Nutt Address.
The Annual Pamela Nutt Address features a speaker who considers the relationship between the Christian faith and a broader aspect of society. Before gaining global recognition for her heroic landing of Flight 1380 in Philadelphia, Tammie Jo forged a path through signifi cant personal and professional hurdles. She overcame gender bias and fi nancial constraints to become a pioneer as an F/A-18 Hornet pilot in the U.S. Navy.
Her journey, spanning from military cockpits to world-renowned emergency landings, exemplifies extraordinary composure and bravery. Captain Shults serves as a powerful testament to how preparation, resilience, and most importantly, faith can guide us through life’s most challenging moments.
