View PLC Sydney Preschools InformationPLC Sydney is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Tim Archer as the Head of Learning and Teaching, commencing in January 2026.
Mr Archer is a passionate and experienced educator with a strong background in independent girls’ schools. Since 2017, he has served as Head of English at Meriden School in Strathfield, and prior to that, taught English at SCEGGS Darlinghurst. His professional experience is diverse and includes contributing to NESA curriculum development, presenting at educational conferences, hosting events for the Sydney Writers’ Festival, and teaching pre-service teachers at university.
Mr Archer is excited to be joining the team at PLC Sydney and looks forward to contributing to the College’s culture of teaching and learning. His educational philosophy is grounded in a growth mindset and the belief that “all things are possible” when learning is built upon strong, collaborative relationships.
Outside of school, Tim enjoys reading literary fiction, poetry, and theory, following various sports, being active, and spending time with his wife and seven-year-old daughter.
Principal Dr Burgis shared, “We warmly welcome Mr Tim Archer to the PLC Sydney community and to the College Executive. We are confident that his deep understanding of the importance of the student-teacher relationship, his expertise in what effective classrooms look like, and his warmth as a person will make him a good fit for our College. We look forward to the relationships he will build with Heads of Faculty, students and teachers and to the clarity he will bring to the vital role of Head of Learning and Teaching.”
