PLC Sydney is delighted to celebrate the exceptional achievements of our Class of 2025, whose HSC results are among the strongest in the College’s history.
These outstanding outcomes reflect not only academic excellence, but also the character, unity and determination of this remarkable cohort. We are immensely proud of our students, our teachers and the wider PLC Sydney community who supported them throughout their senior years.
A shared achievement
The praise for results such as these belongs first and foremost to the students themselves. The Class of 2025 worked with focus and perseverance, while also maintaining a strong sense of camaraderie and mutual support. This collective spirit was a defining feature of their success.
We also acknowledge the dedication and expertise of our teachers, who taught with care, intelligence and commitment, and we thank our parents and families, whose support, stability and encouragement played a vital role throughout the HSC journey.
Historic academic highlights
The 2025 HSC results include a number of unprecedented achievements for PLC Sydney:
- Record-breaking All-rounders - 26 students were named on the HSC All-rounders List, achieving 90 marks or higher across their top ten units, the highest number of All-rounders in the College’s history.
- Top ATARs - Emma Zhang and Jio Yim both achieved the highest possible ATAR of 99.95 , with Reina Shi and Chloe Kwok close behind on 99.90.

First in State results -
Three students achieved the top ranking in NSW for their subjects:
- Jio Yim — English Extension 1 (also ‘First in the World’ for Cambridge English in Year 10)
- Youtan (Rachel) Yang — Chinese Continuers
- Sofia Sok Cifuentes — Spanish Continuers
- Top Achievers in Course - Our students earned a further 14 Top 20 places across a diverse range of subjects, including Chemistry, English (Advanced and EAL/D), Mathematics, Legal Studies, Design and Technology, PDHPE and Languages.
- Subject excellence - Student performance was significantly above the state average across all subjects, particularly in Mathematics and English. In an unprecedented achievement, 100% of the Year 12 Drama cohort received OnSTAGE nominations .
Of special note, only 107 students across NSW (from approximately 75,000 candidates) achieved ATARs of 99.95 or 99.90. PLC Sydney was proud to have four of these students among our cohort.
Reaching every student
At PLC Sydney, our ambition is to reach each student and support her to achieve her personal best. The fact that 57.5% of the Class of 2025 achieved an ATAR above 90 reflects the success of this approach.
Yet, while the numbers are impressive, they tell only part of the story. Behind every result is a young person shaped by resilience, growth, perseverance and shared experience, alongside achievements across academic, creative, sporting and co-curricular pursuits.
A lifelong community
Following the release of the HSC results, we were delighted to welcome many members of the Class of 2025 back to campus to reconnect with teachers and friends. It was a powerful reminder that education at PLC Sydney is both a shared journey and a lifelong community.
We congratulate those recognised as HSC All-round Achievers and Top Achievers in Course, whose results place them among the highest performers in NSW. These achievements are a testament to sustained effort, curiosity and commitment, supported by a learning environment that values challenge and care in equal measure.

To the Class of 2025: congratulations on all you have accomplished. You have made a meaningful and lasting contribution to the PLC Sydney community, and we are incredibly proud of the young people you have become. We wish you every success as you step confidently into the next chapter of your lives.
