PLC SYDNEY ALUMNAE SELECTED FOR THE 2026 WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES

PLC Sydney proudly congratulates four ex-students who have been selected to represent Australia at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milano Cortina this February. Competing across moguls, snowboard cross and cross-country skiing, these remarkable alumnae reflect not only individual excellence, but the strength of PLC Sydney’s long-standing commitment to snow sports.

  • Charlotte Wilson (Year 12, 2022) – Moguls
  • Emma Bosco (Year 12, 2020) – Moguls
  • Abbey Wilson (Year 12, 2024) – Snowboard Cross
  • Phoebe Cridland (Year 10, 2017) – Cross Country Skiing (10km)

All four Olympians were supported through PLC Sydney’s underpinning programs: the Talented Individual Performer (TIP) Program and Winter School — a unique initiative founded by PLC Sydney’s Snow Sports Coordinator, Mel Johnston.

For decades, Winter School has enabled students to balance their academic studies with on-snow training and competition at Perisher, providing a clear pathway for students passionate about snowsports. The program combines structured learning with high-level coaching, supporting excellence both in the classroom and on the slopes.

Mel Johnston is a long-time leader and at PLC Sydney, having led the Winter School program for over 20 years. As Snow Sports Coordinator, she has mentored generations of young women, shaping a program known for its holistic approach to athlete development, valuing resilience, discipline, academic commitment and personal growth alongside performance.

In recognition of her outstanding contribution to the sport and to young athletes nationwide, Mel was awarded a 2025 Snow Sports Official Award.

The Talented Individual Performer (TIP) Program supports highly talented students in Years 7–12 who are pursuing elite-level sporting, musical, cultural or specialist academic pathways. The program provides flexibility and tailored support to help students successfully balance their academic responsibilities with the demands of high-level performance.

The PLC Sydney community is immensely proud of Charlotte, Emma, Abbey and Phoebe. Their dedication, resilience and achievements are an inspiration to current students and alumnae alike.

We wish them every success in Milano Cortina 2026 and look forward to cheering them on as they represent Australia on the Olympic stage.
