IGSA ATHLETICS CARNIVAL 2025

PLC Sydney athletes showcased remarkable talent and determination at this year’s IGSA Athletics Championships, delivering a standout performance across track and field events to finish 4th out of 27 schools.

From the very first race, our athletes impressed — all seven 800m runners made finals, and five hurdlers advanced to the next day. Friday’s events saw every 100m sprinter reach the finals, with all three 4×100m relay teams competing in the final races.

Highlights included Zara Richards (Year 7) taking double gold in the 13 Years 100m and 200m, while middle-distance runners like Alice Keeler (Year 7) claimed double silver competing above her age group. Across sprints, hurdles, and field events, athletes consistently achieved top finishes, including Emily Chen (Year 7) winning gold in the long jump and Maddison Beanland (Year 12) securing bronze in her final shot put event.

Sophia Lowe (Athletics Captain) led the team, winning four medals, including gold in Para Discus, with strong support from Ella Dunphy (Year 12) and Madeleine Goldsmith (Year 10), who contributed to our highest relay finish of the day.

This incredible team effort reflects the strength, depth, and spirit of PLC Sydney Athletics. With a 70-point improvement on last year, our athletes have set a new benchmark for success, and next year promises to be even bigger.

Congratulations to all our athletes and coaches on their outstanding achievements.
