HSC DESIGN EXHIBITION 2025

Last Wednesday, the Adelaide Perry Gallery and Year 12 HSC Design students welcomed friends and family to the official opening of this year’s HSC Design Exhibition, celebrating the impressive Major Design Projects in Design & Technology and Textiles & Design.

Guests were warmly greeted with delicious food and excellent catering by Year 11 Food Technology students, under the guidance of Mrs Cathy Wedd.

Billie Ronis (Class of 2023), Ms Sana Issa (Head of TAS), and Jasmine Gifford (Art & Design Captain) with award recipients.

The evening began with an Acknowledgement of Country by Jasmine Gifford (Art & Design Captain), followed by a welcome from Miss Jen Gair (Gallery Curator ). Dr Paul Burgis (Principal) then addressed the crowd, praising the students for their outstanding work and thanking families and friends for their ongoing support.

Ms Sana Issa (Head of Technological and Applied Studies), spoke with pride about the creativity, determination and resilience shown by the students in developing their Major Projects. She then introduced special guest speaker and ex-student Billie Ronis (Class of 2023).

Year 11 Food Technology students provided exceptional catering for the exhibition opening.

Billie, now studying a Bachelor of Design in Fashion and Textiles at UTS, shared reflections on her own experience and praised the current students for the calibre of their work. Jasmine Gifford presented Billie with a gift on behalf of the College.

Ms Issa then announced the recipients of this year’s Design Awards, with certificates presented by Dr Burgis:

  • Creativity & Innovation in Design & Technology: Sofia Sok Cifuentes
  • Dedication in Design & Technology: Isabel Perry
  • Creativity & Innovation in Textiles & Design: Tiffany Gao and Elizabeth Tran
  • Dedication in Textiles & Design: Jasmine Gifford and Georgia Miller

Award recipients.

To close the evening, students Mia Kobylioukh, Charlotte Douglas and Amelia Lai shared their experiences of studying Design at HSC level and thanked their teachers for their unwavering support. Gifts were presented in appreciation to Ms Emans, Mrs Nastasi and Mrs Wedd.

The exhibition remains open from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm daily until midday, Wednesday 6 August.
