PLC SYDNEY CHORAL CONCERT – STORIES THROUGH SONG

On Friday 22 August, PLC Sydney’s Performing Arts calendar reached a new high with the 2025 Choral Concert, Stories Through Song. This annual celebration brought together our Junior and Senior choirs, HSC Music 1 vocalists, and the Community Choir for an evening filled with music, storytelling, and extraordinary talent.

The concert opened with Isabella Chotar’s stirring rendition of The Voice , setting the tone for a night that showcased the dedication and passion of every performer. Across the evening, choristers delivered remarkable performances, with some students contributing to up to 12  pieces. Their skill, stamina, and commitment, combined with the artistry of accompanists and musicians, created a rich, diverse, and moving program.

Highlights included captivating solo performances from our HSC vocalists and ensemble pieces that demonstrated the depth of our students’ musical abilities. The concert also embraced its role beyond the stage, raising $3,088 for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF) . The ILF strengthens literacy and storytelling in remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, providing children with access to books, supporting First Languages programs, and celebrating the power of stories to preserve culture.

The evening reached a breathtaking climax with a performance of Natasha Bedingfield’s Unwritten , featuring over 250 choristers on stage. Its uplifting message of possibility and hope perfectly captured the concert’s theme: the power of voices to tell stories and inspire change.

Our sincere thanks go to the choristers, soloists, accompanists, choir directors, sound and lighting teams, parent helpers, and the wider PLC Sydney community. Together, we demonstrated how music and storytelling can unite us, celebrate creativity, and make a tangible difference in the lives of others.

The 2025 Choral Concert will be remembered not only for its artistry but for the way our voices came together to uplift, inspire, and make a positive impact.
