Each year, PLC Sydney Year 11 students have the opportunity to travel to Vietnam in support of the year group charity, the Ba Vi Centre for children with disabilities and the elderly.
Students spend time working with the children in the orphanage and rehabilitation centre. The tour combines challenge, interest, service learning, culture and education.
The tour aims to:
- Educate students about the year group charity and allow them to see how fundraising makes a difference.
- Provide an opportunity to work with children at the rehabilitation centre and orphanage.
- Provide an opportunity to learn about another culture and way of life.
- Provide an opportunity to live gospel values.
Students are confronted with the challenges of living and working in a developing country. The tour is a rich and highly rewarding experience that will enhance their personal and academic development.
