Curriculum (Years 7 to 10)

Year 7 students follow a compulsory curriculum that is largely determined by the Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards NSW (BOSTES).

From Year 8 onwards, students can choose an increasing number of elective subjects each year.

All students study Christian Studies from Years 7 - 10. 

Stage 4: Years 7 to 8

Students study Stage 4 courses mandated by the NSW Board of Studies. These include:

  • English
  • Design and Technology
  • Geography
  • History (Year 8 only)
  • Languages – French or Chinese in Year 7
  • Languages - French or Chinese; plus one of Japanese, Italian, Beginners Chinese or Latin (Year 8)
  • Mathematics
  • Music
  • Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE)
  • Science
  • Visual Arts

Stage 5: Years 9 to 10

Students in Years 9 and 10 study a NSW Board of Studies program for Stage 5 which includes:

The compulsory subjects:

  • Australian History
  • English
  • Australian Geography
  • Mathematics
  • Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE)
  • Science

And 3 electives chosen from:

  • Commerce
  • Design and Technology
  • Drama
  • French
  • Geography
  • History
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Latin
  • Chinese
  • Music
  • Physical Activity and Sports Science
  • Textiles Technology
  • Visual Arts
  • Vivid Text

Cambridge International Examinations (university of cambridge)

In addition to the NSW Board of Studies subjects offered, Years 9 and 10 students are also offered the opportunity to study International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) elective courses. Cambridge courses include:

  • Global Perspectives
  • History
  • Theology & Philosophy
  • Physical Sciences
