Macindoe Research Centre
The Macindoe Research Centre is a four-story, state-of-the-art research facility for PLC Sydney students that was completed in December 2010.
Embracing Digital Literacy
While there is still a place for books, periodicals and other hard copy resources in the Macindoe Research Centre, use of the latest software programs and hardware devices is required and encouraged.
Using their own portable machines and electronic devices, students have access to well over a thousand individual, subject orientated internet sites to which the College subscribes, as well as to millions more that are freely available to all. This outstanding centre embraces and encourages digital literacy and investigation.
Embracing Collaborative Learning
Electronic global communication is revolutionising learning strategies and techniques. This large facility offers a flexible learning environment, providing the spaces and the technologies needed by the students of today and tomorrow. A variety of large, open plan areas substantially improve opportunities for collaborative learning, while a number of smaller rooms facilitate quiet study. There is also a ground floor café where students can meet and discuss issues of the day.
