The rain is great for the garden. At school it is lovely to be in a quiet classroom with the rain falling outside.
Yet the rain (and the earlier extreme heat) continues to delay, in a significant manner, our building program.
Firstly, the Audrey Keown Theatre foyer and upstairs ‘Symphony Orchestra room’ should be finished by now. The rain just won’t allow us to put on the roof or complete the rendering. Once the roof is on we will be able to work in all weather patterns. But not yet. We really want it to be finished for the production of High School Musical and we believe this is still possible.
Secondly, the Junior School is so close to having a sealed roof – but it keeps raining! We also have the challenge that we think it is very unlikely we will now be able to bring the girls into their rooms separate to the completion of the Administration section. I would love to give you a firm date but with the rain still falling a final date can’t be given until we are working inside a sealed building.
I thank the teachers and students and parents for their patience.

Are you a parent of a Year 6 PLC Sydney student? Would you like to see the new building construction?
Dr Burgis will be taking a tour through the Junior School construction on Monday 3 April 2017 at 5.30 pm.
We have selected Year 6 parents as your daughters will be the students who have the least time in the new facilities. Limit of two places per family. Children not allowed on the building site - adults only. Only 15 places available per tour. Other tours will be organised later in the year.
Why not then stay on at school for the P&F meeting? Mrs Hendricks will be our guest discussing the new student-led Science conference. Dr Burgis will speak on the past month at school and on the progress with the new Hamilton.
