Staff 'Us and Us Day'

On Friday 27 January 2017, PLC Sydney started the year with a professional development day called Us and Us Day. Now in its second year, Us and Us Day is part of our staff well-being program.

Our College Chaplains opened the day by considering the topic of 'Grace and what it means to them' in relation to looking after our spiritual well-being. Belinda Meggitt, Nutritionist and Physiotherapist, spoke of her passion for health, challenging us to look at our own physical well-being. We then had a Reframing Conflict session, the first of three in partnership with the PeaceWise organisation. For the next phase of the day, we broke off into groups and worked together in our chosen activities: Bush Dancing, Drama, Choir or Build a City. Us and Us Day concluded with an energetic address from Martin Heppell, an Education Manager/ Presenter from The Resilience Project, who spoke about 'Gratitude, Mindfulness and Empathy'. Martin is passionate about children being given the opportunity to be raised in a positive manner that evokes confidence and a zest for life.

Us and Us Day is a day where staff take time to build relationships and reflect upon their own vocations.
