New Art Masterclass Program
This year, the Visual Arts Faculty is introducing a new and exciting Masterclass program to provide an opportunity for students to develop and extend their artmaking skills in specialist mediums.
Our first Masterclass, starting on Monday 20 February 2017, is an Introduction to Oil Painting with Becky Gibson. Becky is a professional painter who won the Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship in 2012, the Mosman Art Allan Gamble Memorial Prize for built environment in 2014 and was our Artist in Residence at PLC Sydney in 2014.
The Masterclass is a six week program which is open to Elective Visual Arts students from Years 9–12. In Term 1, this Masterclass will run on Monday afternoons from 3.15-5.15 pm. Becky will teach students the process of oil painting from preparing the surface, colour theory and building up layers with oil paint to create a resolved work of art.
The first program will commence Monday 20 February 2017 in The Croydon. If you are interested in participating in the program or would like further information please email Ms Knight at email@example.com or visit The Croydon to collect a brochure.
Please note that numbers are strictly limited to 15 students and places will be prioritised in order of expression of interest and to senior students. Please contact Ms Knight ASAP if you wish to participate.
