text Exhibition Opening

texttext, an exhibition of art employing the written word by contemporary Australian artists and PLC Sydney Year 11 Visual Arts students, opened on Thursday 12 October at Adelaide Perry Gallery. Guest speaker Rebecca Gallo, artist and art writer officially opened the show. Ms Gallo drew the crowd’s attention to the variety of ways text and language are used in the works on display, highlighting the cultural and aesthetic influences at play when a work featuring text is received and interpreted by its audience. She congratulated the exhibiting Year 11 Visual Arts students for their achievements and spoke with admiration for the Adelaide Perry Gallery space, commending the College for providing its students and community with such a facility.


On behalf of the students and staff at PLC Sydney, 2018 Art and Design Captain Elena Koskinas presented Rebecca with a gift in appreciation for her participation at the event.

Exhibition continues 8.30 am to 4.00 pm weekdays until 24 October.
