Operation Art 2017
Operation Art 2017 opened on Saturday 9 September at The Armory Gallery, Sydney Olympic Park showcasing more than 800 NSW school students.
Every year schools across NSW are invited to participate in Operation Art, an initiative of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in association with the NSW Department of Education. The Operation Art program provides a forum for schools and students to demonstrate their visual arts achievements through exhibitions at the Armory Gallery, Sydney Olympic Park and the Art Gallery of NSW.
Three PLC Sydney students were included in the exhibition, Kelly Lee (Year 4) Julie Lee (Year 7) and Yehna Jeong (Year 7). The girls were presented with Operation Art participation certificates in their year meetings last week.
On opening night, it was announced that Yehna’s work titled 'Life at a Different Angle' was awarded as one of the touring 50. This means that her work has been selected to be included in a regional touring exhibition including being displayed at the Art Gallery of NSW before being donated to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead as a part of their permanent collection.
Congratulations to Julie, Kelly and Yehna!
