In 93 years of IGSSA Track and Field competition, only three schools have ever been crowned Champion School: Pymble Ladies College, Abbotsleigh and PLC Sydney (back in 2009). Lead by 2009 Track and Field Captains, Davina Smith and Ruby Ainsworth, this was one of the greatest ever sporting achievements by the College.

This year's Track and Field Captain, Kendall Lane (Year 12), will compete in the 18 Years Long Jump as she leads the 45 strong PLC Sydney team to compete at the 2017 IGSSA Athletics Carnival on August 16 and 17.

The team has been competing in twilight meets in the lead up to the big day and some recent victories include:

  • Hannah Moloney (Year 10) 15 Years 800 m - Meeting 2
  • Emily Gralton (Year 10) Intermediate Discus - Meeting 2
  • Abigail Stevanovic (Year 10) 15 Years Hurdles and 200 m - Meeting 2 and 3
  • Bronte Prentice (Year 7) 12 Years Shot Putt - Meeting 3

All the very best to each and every competitor at the 94th IGSSA Athletics Carnival.
