Riversdale Dreaming Exhibition People’s Choice Winner
Congratulations to Elena Koskinas (Year 11) who has been voted People’s Choice by visitors to the recent Riversdale Dreaming exhibition at Adelaide Perry Gallery.
Eleni’s works were inspired by the surroundings and architecture of the Yvonne and Arthur Boyd Education Centre at Riversdale, near Nowra, where Year 11 Visual Arts travelled in April 2017 for our annual Art Camp with PLC Sydney Artist-in-Residence Mirra Whale.
Of her Riversdale body of work, Elena commented:
'Throughout the duration of the Bundanon trip, I was inspired greatly not only by the vast and serene Australian landscape but also by the modern architecture of the building in which we stayed. I was instantly drawn to the large amount of concrete incorporated into this design and how it contrasted boldly with the natural landscape. Sharp geometric lines, monochromatic colour schemes and the precision in which the building was executed was a driving force for me to replicate but the balance that I saw with this piece of architecture and the landscape created a unique harmony.'
Well done, Elena!
