PLC Sydney staff member receives Medal of the Order of Australia

issue1117-karenCongratulations to Karen Stephenson, Olympian and Director of J D Oates Aquatics Centre, who has been honoured with the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to swimming.


Karen attended 1968 Olympics, 1970 Commonwealth Games, Captained the swim team at 1972 Olympics, managed the women’s swim team at 2002 Commonwealth Games and was section manager swimming at 2004 Olympics.
She is now a swim coach and Director of J D Oates Aquatic Centre.


'What I hope to instil in the girls’ is that you should always give back and look after yourself, staying healthy and being respectful.'
