Duke of Ed Bronze Practice

The Bronze Duke of Edinburgh students began their practice Adventurous Journey section of the award over a beautiful weekend in Kiama. 62 students in total were involved in the two day one night hike covering approximately 15 km along the stunning coastline from Kiama to Gerringong.
On arrival at Kiama the girls packed their backpacks, collected their tents, stoves and sleeping bags and set off in two groups to find camp before dark. After a long walk via the beaches and up several hills, the girls finally arrived at camp with head torches shining and ready to put up the tents and cook their group meals ranging from exotic pot noodles to beef and vegetable sticky rice!
In the morning the girls set off again along the coastal path to head to Gerringong, with even some sightings of the migrating whales along the way.
All 62 students worked well within their groups, leading and navigating and often facing new challenges along the way. Well done to everyone and thank you also to the PLC Sydney staff who supported the trip.
