Rowing in May 2017

Over the month of May seven Eights, made up of PLC Sydney parents, staff, friends, work colleagues and student coxes, trained twice a week to learn and perfect their rowing skills and fitness. Lots of laughs, beautiful sunrises, and good times were had by all.  Appreciation was gained of the complexity of rowing and the strong sense of fulfilment and achievement when close to the perfect stroke is taken by the whole crew and the boat just glides through the water. A truly unique and exhilarating experience.
The four week training program finished in the grand finale - The Great Autumn Regatta, held at the Sydney Olympic Regatta Centre on Sunday 28 May 2017. All seven PLC Sydney crews competed within the spirit of the regatta, with a sense of good humour, against similar standard crews from six other schools - a total of 26 crews competing on the day. Whilst all our crews finished the day with big smiles on their faces, two of our crews also left with medals for the trophy cabinet. Victorous Secret (made up PLC Sydney mums) placed third in the C Final and Annie's OAR-fans (made up of PLC Sydney dads) placed a very close second in the A Final.
Thank you to all who participated in the 2017 Rowing in May program.  We look forward to seeing you back next year.
