PLC Sydney Rowing Regatta

On Saturday 6 February, PLC Sydney co-hosted the PLC Sydney/Kings/Rowing NSW Annual Regatta. The event was a hugely successful day, due to both the organisation and performances on the water.  Thank you to Annette Irwin and the many PLC Sydney parents who coordinated and fulfilled all volunteer roles that made the regatta run so smoothly. Congratulations to all the girls on some fantastic racing. It was great to see so many of our girls on the podium receiving medals.

NSW Rowing State Championships

The top rowers from Years 9, 10, 11 and 12 represented PLC Sydney at the NSW State Championships on Saturday 13 February. Competition was tough, with many interstate crews competing as well.  Our Para rowers did us proud with Bronte Marshall, Ruby Sutherland and Ishani Roy taking out 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively in the Para single scull event. Our Years 9 and 10 double sculls rowed well in their age events, but unfortunately weren’t able to progress to the finals. Our Senior Quad places a respectable 6th in the Championship Schoolgirl Coxed Quad Scull. The Senior Four blasted out in the heat, winning by a clear margin. They finished with a 5th placing overall in the Under 19 Women’s Coxed Four and the Championship Schoolgirl Coxed Four events. Well done girls.
