Private Tuition Enrolment Form

Please note the following with regard to the tuition policy:

Private Music Lessons

At PLC Sydney, students excel under a group of professional musicians who tutor the students and nurture their learning. Students develop specific skills that enable them to perform individually and in ensembles.

Music Policy and Contract Commitments

Private music lessons require a serious commitment. Students who enrol for private music lessons must commit to one full school year (January to December).

All students are required to:

  • Undertake regular practice
  • Complete weekly set tasks
  • Attend all lessons
  • Bring instruments, books and other necessary equipment to lessons.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are provided for 30 weeks of the year. If a student cannot attend a lesson and does not provide at least one day’s prior notice, the lesson may not be made up by the teacher. Extra lessons can be provided once all 30 lessons are taken and will be charged later.

Senior School

In the Senior School private lessons occur during class time and MUST be rotated (Years 7 to 10). Lessons for Years 11 and 12 students are conducted during free periods or before and after school.

Junior School

Junior School lessons may be available before or after the school day provided that the parent is responsible for taking the student to and from the lesson.  At all times the private music teachers try to accommodate the wishes of the parents. All lessons in the Junior School are negotiated with the classroom teacher. Girls in Years 5 and 6 can rotate out of lessons if the class teacher approves.

Encore 2015

On Monday evening 22 February, our Elective Music students and their teachers will attend Encore 2015 at the Sydney Opera House, featuring some of the best performances from the 2015 HSC. This is a COMPULSORY event for all Elective Music students and the girls are required to make their own way to and from the venue.
