On Wednesday 9 November 2016, Year 8 arrived at school, eagerly looking forward to 3 days of teamwork and outdoor adventure at Crosslands Youth and Convention Centre, Galston.

On arrival, the girls were met by the Southbound team and launched straight into activities. Stand-up paddle boarding on inflatable rafts was a highlight, along with the flying fox and bushwalking.

The camp provided an opportunity for students considering the Duke of Edinburgh Award, in Year 9, to get a taste of outdoor life. The overnight expedition component involved canoeing to the campsite, setting up tents and cooking dinner on a camp stove. The girls thoroughly enjoyed the experience, despite the heavy rain on the first evening.

Year 8 camp is a wonderful opportunity for the girls to develop friendships within their home room groups and to support each other through challenges. A big thank you to the Year 8 Home Room teachers and staff who attended.
