Giselle wows at Australian Figure Skating Championships

Congratulations to Giselle Gurr (Year 8) who competed at the Australian Figure Skating Championships held at Docklands, Victoria on the 26 and 27 November 2016. Giselle competed in two divisions of the Synchronised Skating competition with two teams from Majestic Ice Australia, bringing home gold and silver medals.

Giselle’s first event was in the Mixed Age Division (for skaters of any age). There were 12 Australian and New Zealand State Representative Teams. Giselle’s team came second, narrowly missing out to one of the senior teams.

Her second event was in the Novice Division (for skaters up to 15 years of age). Giselle’s team won gold, being named National Champions!

Giselle’s team in the Mixed Age Division will now be travelling to Europe in January to represent Australia in two international competitions: The Mozart Cup, in Salzburg, Austria and the Trophee de la Reine Mathilde, in Caen, France.

We wish Giselle all the best as she prepares to represent Australia at these international competitions.
