Evandale Swimming Carnival
Pre-Kindergarten to Year 2 students were extremely excited to display their swimming ability when they competed in the 2016 Evandale Swimming Carnivals.
The Year 2 Carnival took place at the conclusion of Term 3 and the entire group demonstrated their exceptional skills in the pool. An impressive 90% of students are now swimming 25m or more. The final event of the Carnival was the 100m Individual Medley which was contested by Year 2 athletes: Sienna Colosi, Mims Clarke, Lily Rofail, Ella Jewell, Isabelle Whitford, Kiera McAlister, Jasmine Huang and Gabriella Natoli. These girls should be commended for their commitment to their swimming program.
Year 1 students were superb in the 50m, 25m and 14m freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke events. Pre-Kindergarten enthusiastically demonstrated their prowess in the 14m freestyle, backstroke and novelty events. At the Kindergarten Carnival the students amazed us all with their skills in the 14m pool and some talented swimmers in the 25m freestyle and backstroke events. The girls were very pleased and proud of themselves.
It is exciting to see the improvements of all swimmers as a result of their participation in the intensive swimming program at the College. Thank you to the JD Oates Aquatic Staff for their assistance with the Evandale Swimming program. This program is a fantastic initiative and one that supports the continuity of outstanding swimming at PLC Sydney.
