First regatta of the season

Congratulations to our PLC Sydney Rowers who competed in the Loreto Kirribilli Regatta on Sunday 6 November 2016. After the Loreto Normanhurst Regatta (scheduled for Saturday 5 November 2016) was cancelled due to the high winds we returned to Penrith for the first competition of the season.
A number of PLC Sydney crews gained a well earned place in their event. Our Para Scullers raced 1000m for the first time and performed exceptionally well. Congratulations to Ruby Sutherland (Year 10) who won her race and Ishani Roy (Year 11) who gained her first ever 2nd place! Our Year 10 scullers, Alannah Saad, Esther Rutherford and Anneka Graham all placed 2nd in their races. These girls joined Alexandra Louizos and Jacqueline Divis to take out 3rd place in the very competitive Year 10 Quad Scull Division 1. Our Year 10 double of Lauren D’Addona and Olivia Leckie also had a great race and placed 3rd. PLC Sydney’s First Senior Crew, Lilli Glenn, Alessandra Bicego, Isabella Dorigo, Lexe Meyer and coxed by Jacqueline Divis, placed 2nd in the First Four event behind rivals St Catherine’s. Lexe and Isabella then doubled up in the Senior Double and placed 3rd. A fabulous start to the season girls!
We look forward to further racing by all our teams, including our new rowers, on Sunday 20 November 2016 at Sydney International Regatta Centre (SIRC) for the Independent Schools Rowing Association Regatta.
