Congratulations to our Speech students who recently competed in the Association of Heads of Independent Girls Schools (AHIGS) Festival of Speech. PLC Sydney finished a close second to Ravenswood.
On Saturday the 22 October 2016, 26 students from PLC Sydney, along with 27 other independent girls’ schools across NSW, arrived at Abbotsleigh for the Centenary of the AHIGS Festival of Speech. Students battled it out in sections including Prose Reading, Poetry Presentation, Public Speaking, Religious and Ethical Questions, Debating, Current Affairs and Drama. PLC Sydney performed brilliantly finishing a close second to Ravenswood.
Stand out performances from PLC Sydney were as follows: Sophie Ma (Year 10) who took out first place in Senior Poetry, Louisa Cusumano (Year 8) who won Junior Prose Reading, Lina Cho (Year 10) who placed third in Senior Public Speaking and Year 11 students Sandra Magro, Lauren McGrath-Wild and Rebekah Kang (making up the Religious and Ethical Questions Team) also came third.
