School Sport Australia Diving Carnival

Congratulations to Lauren Flint (Year 7), Zoe Leckie (Year 6) and Emily Webb (Year 5) who performed exceptionally well at the recent School Sport Australia Diving Carnival.

On 27 August 2016 Lauren, Zoe and Emily travelled to Lightning Ridge, NSW, to compete in the School Sport Australia Diving Carnival. The girls had to make it through 4 levels of competition to qualify for this Australian/New Zealand wide competition.

The girls performed exceptionally well with Emily winning first place in the 10 Years Springboard, Zoe finishing 6th in the 12 Years Springboard and Lauren taking out the gold medal for the 12 Years Springboard. Emily and Zoe then teamed up to finish 5th in the Synchro event with Lauren and her partner taking 2nd place.

Well done girls!

NSW 2nd Interclub Diving Carnival

Congratulations to our PLC Sydney divers who competed at the NSW 2nd Interclub Diving Carnival. The girls made us very proud and came away with some great results.

On 10 and 11 October 2016, PLC Sydney divers competed at the NSW 2nd Interclub Carnival held at Sydney Olympic Park.

The girls made us very proud with Chantilly Ho (Year 3) and Rose Tan (Year 2) competing in their first ever diving carnival. They both did a great job, along with Naomi Webb (Year 3), taking out a clean sweep of the ribbons in the Level 3 School Pathways Division.

In the Level 5 School Pathways Division we saw Gabrielle O’Dea (Year 6) winning first place with Archiraya Stokes (Year 3) taking out second.

In the 10 Years Springboard Division Amy Somboli (Year 3) performed a new and very tricky dive finishing 4th. Emily Webb (Year 5) won the 10 Years Springboard and also qualified in the 3 Metre to represent the State at Nationals next year.

In the 12 Years age group Zoe Leckie (Year 6) took out 2nd place narrowly missing out on qualifying for Nationals. Our most senior competitor on the day was Charlotte Somboli (Year 7) who competed in the 14-15 Year age group. Charlotte had to compete without support on hand as Coach Michelle was judging. Charlie performed some great dives, narrowly missing out on the dias finishing 4th.

Well done girls!
