Winter School

issue1316-snowsports-2issue1316-snowsports-110 students from PLC Sydney have been taking part in the Elite Snowsports Development Program (ESDP). Throughout this camp, each girl undergoes two weeks of intense training in their selected discipline in the lead up to the NSW State Interschools Championships. Students cover all disciplines of alpine skiing, moguls, cross country skiing, snowboarding and slopestyle.

Each athlete has been training hard throughout the day whilst also keeping up to date with their studies. With some great weather and enjoyable snow conditions, everyone has been able to make the most of their time at the snow and train to their full potential.

Some students have competed in external competitions throughout the season including Karli Musarra (who placed 2nd in cross country skiing at the Snowy Mountains Classic), Lilli Glenn (who competed in the snowboarding event at the Scots Cup) and  Phoebe Cridland (who competed at the Australian Open Cross Country Skiing Championships).

On behalf of all girls, we would like to thank our very talented coaches who have become our mentors throughout this trip: Lucy Glanville (Dual Olympian), Melanie Lappas, Rebecca and Dean. Most importantly we would like to thank Ms Johnston and Ms Harden for making this program possible and helping us along our journey.
