Riversdale Dreaming Exhibition People's Choice

issue1216-riversdale-dreaming-peoples-choice-thCongratulations to Christina Ruoff (Year 11) who is this year's winner of the People's Choice Award for the Riversdale Dreaming exhibition.

The exhibition, which closed 26 June, featured works by Artist-in-Residence, Ms Louisa Chircop, and students of Year 11 Visual Arts in the Adelaide Perry Gallery. Visitors had the opportunity to vote for their favourite student artwork.

Christina says of the experience at camp, resulting in her artwork:

When we arrived at Bundanon, the first thing that I did was go down to the edge of the river. The river was a magnet to me, my feet would not stop until I reached it. I absorbed the scenery, which made me feel ultimately invigorated and unbound. In creating my paintings, I can visit these pleasures again without thinking too much about the process.

A selection of works from the Riversdale Dreaming exhibition, including Christina’s painting, are now on display at the MRC and in the Amphitheatre Gallery.
