North West Equestrian Expo

On Friday 3 – Tuesday 7 June 2016, two of our Boarders, Holly Finlay (Year 11) on Charlie Brown and Anna Dowling (Year 8) on Joey, who both hail from the country regions (Holly from Young and Anna from Murringo), represented PLC Sydney at the North West Equestrian Expo held in Coonabaraban. Over 500 riders from schools all over NSW competed in an array of equestrian events.

The girls rode in the one-day event which included dressage, show jumping, cross country and the team penning (a fast-paced event that involves separating cattle from a herd and putting them into a pen at the opposite end of the arena).

They also combined with Coonabaraban High School and were victorious over Riverview College in Horse Ball (which is basically like rugby, football and netball but on horseback). The girls competed in the last event of the day which was Ball Sports, finishing 3rd.

The big finale of the day is a parade showcasing all competitors from each and every school.

Congratulations Holly and Anna.
