Cambridge Professors visit – Year 9 assistance required

Each year Cambridge Professors come to PLC Sydney to conduct interviews in Australasia for entry to Cambridge University from the week beginning Monday 7 December 2015. As part of our Service Learning, Year 9 students are given the opportunity to assist the professors and to act as hosts.

The job involves:

  • Hosting the professors and ensuring they receive morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea
  • Welcoming and being hospitable to the nervous young men and women who await interview
  • Escorting students to the interviews at the appropriate time.

We are putting a call out for Year 9 students to step up and help us out. Traditionally it has been the top classes who volunteer, but signing up is available to any Year 9 student who would like this opportunity.

This means students need to be available in the first week of the December holidays. In return the Professors will conduct a session with the Year 9 students on studying at an overseas university. Students will be immersed in a cultural experience where they will meet all manner of committed and interesting older students and real live Cambridge Professors.

To apply simply email Ms Lisa Tabuteau at: ltabuteau@plc.nsw.edu.au.
