After several years of mixed weather, the 2015 Pet Show took place on a warm and sunny day. Pets of every shape and size came along, including a bearded dragon and one very brave cat!

Students and staff ran a wide range of stalls such as face painting, craft activities and a professional photo booth as well as a delicious selection of food. Burwood Fire Brigade once again generously gave up their time to demonstrate one of their fire trucks.

Lucy Mowat from Guide Dogs NSW/ACT attended the event with ‘Gypsie’, the puppy currently being supported by Year 9. Lucy spoke about the rigorous training process that Gypsie will go through to become an official guide dog.

The day raised over $11,000, which will contribute to raising a guide dog like Gypsie over two years.

Congratulations go the Year 9 students for all their hard work in preparing for the event as well as Mrs Lynne Knapman, the Year 9 Home Room teachers, volunteers and guests who attended Pet Show. It was a lovely day with a great atmosphere, all for a very worthwhile cause. Thank you for supporting Year 9 in their service learning project.
