Congratulations to Year 12 students Peyton Cole and Rachael Sung who have both been nominated for Encore. Encore is a concert that features the best HSC performances music performances from around the state and it is certainly a great achievement to have been nominated for the concert. In addition to this Peyton has been nominated for OnStage, which is the equivalent concert for HSC Drama students.

On Tuesday 30 October the Evandale Concert featured students in the Year 1 Strings, Year 2 Choir and Evandale Strings. The Hamilton Concert followed and included the Year 5 Band, Junior Concert Band, Junior Orchestra, Hamilton Strings, Junior Handbells, PLC Voice and Cantabile.
The Choral Concert was held on 2 November and featured performances by the Vocal Ensemble, Madrigal, Chamber Choir, College Choir, and Senior Bells.
Congratulations go to all students for their wonderful performances. Thank you to Mrs Allen, Mr Barnwell, Mr Basile, Ms Curiel, Mr Harper, Mrs Mellor and Mr O'Dea, for their hard work in preparing the students for these concerts. Thank you also to the parents and students who volunteered their time to provide supper, Mr Heap for lighting and sound, Mrs Young for photography and Ms McCarthy for ticketing and administration support.
On 31 May 2015 the members of the College Chamber Choir and our resident composer, Mr Paul Jarman, worked hard to perform and record the newly commissioned work MALALA. The composition was inspired by Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani teenager and youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate, who has campaigned passionately for girls’ education.
Following the school’s Music Festival, MALALA has since been performed twice at the 2015 Sydney Eisteddfod in which the choir achieved third prize and a place in the John Lamble Australasian Choral Championships.
A video of the recording has been created, which will be sent to Malala and used as part of the school's Service Learning Program.
