Congratulations to Year 12 students Peyton Cole and Rachael Sung who have both been nominated for Encore. Encore is a concert that features the best HSC performances music performances from around the state and it is certainly a great achievement to have been nominated for the concert. MALALA recording

issue1615-music-malalaOn 31 May 2015 the members of the College Chamber Choir and our resident composer, Mr Paul Jarman, worked hard to perform and record the newly commissioned work MALALA. The composition was inspired by Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani teenager and youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate, who has campaigned passionately for girls’ education.

Following the school’s Music Festival, MALALA has since been performed twice at the 2015 Sydney Eisteddfod in which the choir achieved third prize and a place in the John Lamble Australasian Choral Championships.

A video of the recording has been created, which will be sent to Malala and used as part of the school's Service Learning Program.
