Speech students set to storm Melbourne

issue1415-speechFour talented speech students will take part in the Australian Impromptu Debating Public Speaking Championships (AIDPSC) in Melbourne during the upcoming school holidays. They will spend three intensive days competing in the four disciplines of Debating, Impromptu Speaking, Persuasive/After Dinner Speaking and Interpretative Reading. Students from 15 schools Australia-wide will vie for a place on the Australian team, which is bound for the USA in March 2016.

2016 Speech Captain, Annelise McCarthy, and 2016 Debating Captain, Nicole Sung, will lead Year 10 students Jade Lin and Stephanie Lee in the battle of wit and words. The team has been working hard in training sessions and will represent PLC Sydney with enthusiasm and skill. Nicole Sung is well-poised to perform at the peak of her game. She recently competed in the Ryde Eisteddfod, winning both the Impromptu Speaking and Poetry Recital sections. We wish all students every success for the competition.
