PLC Sydney Senior students, staff and parents gathered together on Wednesday 16 September to farewell the graduating Year 12 Class of 2015.

Following an Acknowledgement of Country by 2016 School Captain, Lucy Rowse, Principal, Dr Paul Burgis, welcomed guests to the special assembly.

The Senior Chamber Orchestra provided a music interlude with a performance of Andante from Divertimento no.1 by Mozart, which was followed by a reading of Ephesians 3:14-21 by 2015 School Captain, Isabella Buchanan.
College Chaplain, Mrs Cassandra Morphew, then spoke about the importance of faith in dealing with change and led the school community in prayer.

Students Claire Shi (Year 8), Vanessa Lubrano (Year 10) and Lucy Rowse (Year 11) each provided a unique and heartfelt reflection on their relationship with Year 12. Gabriella Lubrano in Year 12 then spoke on behalf of the students who commenced at PLC Sydney in Reception or Kindergarten, after which the group presented the Junior School with the gift of a clock.

Year 12 student Kaitlin Nobbs was presented with the PLC Sydney 'Australia Blazer' by Dr Burgis, to acknowledge her selection into the National Women's Under 21 Hockey Team.

Isabella Buchanan talked fondly about her time at the College, and the close and supportive bond that exists amongst the Year 12 cohort. In her final act as School Captain, Isabella then handed the ceremonial urn, symbolising School Spirit, to Lucy Rowse.

After singing the school song, 'God Be With You' for the last time, each Year 12 student was presented with a Bible by Dr Burgis and rose by Lucy Rowse.

Following the assembly, students, parents and staff enjoyed a light lunch and bid their final farewells around the Camphor Laurel Tree.

The PLC Sydney Community would like to thank the Year 12 Class of 2015 for their significant contribution to the College. We wish all students the very best in their HSC examinations and every success for the future.
