Sporting Achievements

Snowsports 

The following students have recently qualified to compete at the National Snowsports Championships from 7-13 September in Mt Buller, Victoria.
 
Year 7: Emma Bosco, Georgia Coote
 
Year 8: Phoebe Cridland, Taylor Porter
 
Year 9: Karli Musarra, Georgie Allan, Caroline Jenneke
 
Year 12: Maddy Dahan.
 

Stand-out achievers from the State Championships were Emma Bosco (Year 7) who was crowned state champion in the Moguls event and Phoebe Cridland (Year 8) who came second in Cross Country. The Senior team is also joined by four other students from Junior School.

Thank you to all staff who have assisted the girls throughout the term. We wish them all the best in the competition.

 

Rhythmic Gymnastics

Congratulations to our talented Rhythmic Team who competed in the NSW SMC Invitational, which was held on 15 and 16 August at Sydney Gymnastics and Aquatic Centre.

All the girls performed very well with some outstanding results:

  • Zoe Lee (Year 5) Level 5 Sub-Junior 5th All Around, 3rd Rope and 3rd Clubs
  • Madeline Chew (Year 5) Level 5 Sub junior 3rd Hoop
  • Grace Sheng (Year 6) Level 5 Junior, 3rd All Around 2nd Hoop 3rd Clubs. 

To date the following girls have qualified to compete in the NSW State Championships: Zoe Lee, Madeline Chew, Aerin Hayes (Year 5) and Grace Sheng. Well done girls.

 

IPSHA Athletics Carnival

On Tuesday 25 August, the 2015 PLC Sydney IPSHA Athletics team came together to compete at the Sydney International Athletic Centre in Homebush. Twenty-four athletes competed with great tenacity and seven students were awarded with selection to the IPSHA Athletics team to compete at the CIS Athletics carnival on Wednesday 9 September:

Year 4: Abby Alleyn (Junior 4 x 100m Relay), Luca Mackinnon (Junior 4 x 100m Relay)

Year 5: Tatyana Ishak (Junior 4 x 100m Relay), Alexis Forsell (Junior 4 x 100m Relay), Bronte Prentice (8-10 years Discus, Shot Put), Ella Garnett (11 Years 100m, 11 Years 200m)

Year 6: Annalise Giezekamp (12 years High Jump).

Congratulations to all girls involved who represented the College outstandingly.
