Several students from Years 7–10 have been fortunate enough to spend three weeks in Jindabyne, training and preparing for their season of Snowsports races. The following is a reflection from some of the students who have participated:
So far we have been having an amazing time at the Elite Snow Sports Development Program (ESDP). In the past week we have had long and hard training sessions in the areas of skiing, snowboarding and cross country skiing.
The mountain has had plenty of fresh snow and lift lines are quite short, allowing us to make the most out of our day. This has been a fantastic opportunity to develop our skills in our chosen areas.
At the end of a long day we come home and do our school work. We are also learning valuable life skills; every second night we take turns in cooking meals for the rest of the girls in the lodge. We have become a little skiing family.
On behalf of all the girls we would like to thank our teachers for providing us with the school work we need to uphold our academic standards. We would also like to thank Ms Harden and Ms Johnston for being our 'house mother' and our wonderful coach Lucy Glanville for all the commitment, time and inspiration she has given us.
