Changes to public transport ticketing

On 4 August 2015, The Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Andrew Constance, announced that the next stage in modernising the public transport network will arrive on 1 January 2016 with the retirement of 57 magnetic stripe tickets.


These include the:


  • MyFerry Concession TravelTen
  • MyMulti Weekly tickets
  • Pensioner Excursion Ticket (PET)


Please note that the discounted MyMulti 2/3 90 and 365 day tickets are still available through Online Tickets (at 


International students should continue to use their pass as they currently do until it expires, or until they are advised otherwise by Transport for NSW and/or their school or educational facility.


This change further supports the move to Opal electronic ticketing. For full details, please visit:
