Gateway Project Update
Building programs are interesting to watch because, to the casual observer, it appears as if there are sudden periods of action and then perhaps a hiatus where little seems to occur.
Thus I write an update to keep you informed.
I note that I also visit the Junior School Assembly each week to inform our students. It is their second home and I want to make sure our students know what is happening. It is good to talk briefly about everything from plumbing to gardens.
Over the next few weeks you will see the carpark being completed and demountable classrooms being installed. Whilst most of these will be placed on the car park, some will be placed on the grass area adjacent. We will install a temporary section of synthetic grass as the natural grass will struggle to cope with the increased usage and shade. Rest assured that we will return to real grass when the building is complete.
The PLC Sydney Extension Centre staff and functions moved to the new centre at 130 Edwin Street (North) Croydon on Monday 3 August. It won’t be long before the old Extension Centre is demolished.
Students will then move to the demountable classrooms so that the major project can commence.
We appoint a Project Manager to initiate the main tender process and to ensure the building works are carried out economically, in good time, and to a high standard.
