Students Win Silver at Surf Life Saving State Championships
Congratulations to Georgina Ryan (Year 12) and Karli Musarra (Year 11) whose team won silver at the 2017 NSW Surf Life Saving Championships.
Representing Bronte Surf Life Saving Club, Georgina and Karli competed in the Under 17 Mixed Team event at the 2017 Open State Championships held 26 February at Blacksmiths Beach. The team competition combines all elements of Surf Life Saving. Competitors are tested on theory and compete in a surf and board race. The event also involves a patrol set up and competitors are tested with scenarios undertaking rescues, performing CPR, use of oxygen therapy and defib, radio communications and providing first aid.
We wish Georgina and Karli all the best as they prepare to compete at the 2017 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships to be held on the Gold Coast at the end of March.
