Three talented PLC Sydney Year 11 Visual Arts students, Georgia Galanos, Elena Koskinas and Donna Tsang, have been accepted to study painting at the National Art School (NAS) this year.
The NAS HSC Intensive Studio Practice program is endorsed by the NSW Board of Studies and has been offered by NAS to Year 11 Visual Arts students in all government and non-government high schools since 2000. The application process for this competitive program involves a portfolio of works with a statement of intention. Once accepted the students have the opportunity to study with experienced lecturers within the highly regarded National Art School studios over two sessions in July and September, culminating in an exhibition of works produced during the course.
Georgia, Elena and Donna demonstrated their passion and dedication to Visual Arts in the production of outstanding pieces for their body of work submitted following PLC Sydney's annual Visual Arts Camp at Bundanon at the Arthur and Yvonne Boyd Education Centre. These works were displayed in the recent Riversdale Dreaming exhibition in the Adelaide Perry Gallery alongside Artist-in-Residence Mirra Whale.
